In the Know – Collier County Public Schools

When moving to a new area, especially with children, many wonder “How is the school system?” There are many schooling options in Collier County. From private to public and now even a charter option. However, the Collier County Public School system does offer exceptional educational opportunities that are designed to motivate and engage each and every student.

Within the Collier County Public School System there are 29 Elementary Schools, 11 Middle Schools, 8 High Schools and 5 Charter Schools available to the community.  The District received an A rating for the 2015 school year with the help of the 3,200 highly qualified teachers it employs. 49% of teachers in Collier County have advanced degrees. With over 45,000 students in total, the effort placed on student success by staff and community members does not go unnoticed.

The County offers its most capable students the opportunity to pursue an Advanced Placement Laureate diploma, the most demanding Collier County Public Schools diploma available. This program had close to 2015 Laureate graduates from 5 high schools in 2015. Students also have the option to take dual-enrollment College courses which will allow them to receive College credits while still attending High School. With the continued effort to ensure our futures success, we can only expect to see positivity and growth within our School District.
